Transfer Orbit Services

The dedicated ASTRA station for Transfer Orbit Services (TOS) provides satellite tracking and control services during satellite launches and positioning. A 13-meter full motion antenna system is designed to serve TOS missions of geostationary satellites. The broadband feed covers the full frequency band from 10.7 - 18.4 GHz for dual circular or dual linear polarization. The full motion antenna system covers more than the full geostationary arc as seen from Luxembourg.

The antenna system provides simultaneous telecommand transmission, telemetry reception, ranging and accurate AZ/EL tracking data for orbit determination purposes. Fully redundant transmit and receive systems for the FSS and BSS bands, together with a fully redundant mono-pulse tracking system enable a system availability of 99.99%.

Our ground operations staff is actively involved in many TOS missions for ASTRA as well as for other organizations providing LEOP/TOS services.
