IOT Services
The execution of satellite payload In-Orbit Testing (IOT) is a standard service offered from the Betzdorf facilities in Luxembourg, and includes the following possible activities:
- Usage of Betzdorf ground facilities for automated payload measurements (state-of-the-art IOT system, antenna and software for maximum automation of the measurements and related reports)
- Full payload testing specification, coordination and planning
- Analysis of measurement payload data and performance with web-based reporting
- Antenna mapping: specification, execution and post-processing
In addition, our latest IOT system allows us to perform remote testing from any location.
Our IOT system performs all the measurements required:
- Frequency translation
- Gain transfer curve with/without telemetry
- Beacon EIRP, center frequency and phase deviation
- Channel amplifier modes (limiter, linear)
- Figure of merit (G/T)
- Group delay and frequency response
- Attenuator steps
- Carrier level measurement
- Spread spectrum based measurements
All measurements are interactively managed by new-generation software (see products, IOTS 2000) for test scheduling, preparation, execution and web-based reporting.
For antenna mapping, in addition to the standard azimuth/elevation cuts, we offer a special method for assessing the daily variations of the antenna footprints, by using Portable Footprint Measurement Stations (PFMS) located in the high-slope regions of these footprints. Such assessment allows optimisation of the fixed antenna biases compensation, and allows verifying the thermal stability of the satellite antenna system.
